Born and raised in the DMV area, Sam Park (fka Samantha Francesca) is no stranger to the DC underground. As a founding member of the esteemed Sticky Fingers Collective, she cut her teeth throwing acclaimed all-night raves and daytime hangs all across the DMV. More recently, Sam has continued her DIY event curation through Extended Play — a joyful Sunday afternoon collaboration with Martín Miguel. Sam’s DJ sets blur between deep house, breaks, electro, and disco aesthetics. Her production has followed suit in showcasing this versatility. Sam’s rising discography includes a contribution to the soundtrack for the documentary 'Karachi At Night' and will soon boast her first full release on DC’s Real Feel Records later this spring.

Who is Sam Park?
DJ, producer, dog mom. Amateur chef. Korean-Italian-American.

Where is Sam Park from?
I was born in D.C. and grew up in Northern VA. I made my way back into the city after college.

What is Sam Park’s community?
I consider all music lovers as part of my community. More specifically, lately, I’ve found a sense of community and sourced a lot of inspiration from Extended Play, the dance party Martín Miguel and I launched last year.

How does your work reflect who you are and where you're from?
I grew up with pretty divergent musical influences. My parents' musical tastes weren’t exactly aligned. I was still in high school band when I attended my first "raves" at 16. I like to think that made me a more versatile and adept DJ. House music is so expansive and draws from so many musical sources. I think that’s a large part of why I find it so appealing and natural to incorporate into my DJ sets
